The Yangtze River is the longest in China, winding through east-central China for over 5000 miles. So, if you are planning to embark on a cruise down the Yangtze River, you must be wondering, what to wear? Well, packing for a river cruise can be a tricky affair, especially if you are from a cold region.

The most important wardrobe factor is to not overdress for your trip. You don’t want to be lugging around a bunch of heavy clothes, especially during daytime and when the temperature is hot. While evenings and nights can cool down, usually a light cardigan is enough to stay warm.

If you are heading out to the deck, wear comfortable clothes such as polo shirts, shorts, sundresses, skirts, and slacks. Don’t forget a hat and flats to walk on the deck. As the boat takes longer, you may want to bring two-three changes of clothing.

Before you leave, determine the weather of your destination and pack the necessary clothing items. Add some extra layers in case the temperature changes.
