The origins of the “Yellow River” melody are unclear. The tune appeared in China in the 18th century, and was first called “Yellow River Cantata”. The Cantata tells the story of the Qin dynasty general Bai Qi, who was ordered to drown himself in the Yellow River.

The game of Yellow River is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The aim of the game is to remove all of the cards from your hand, and the first player to do so wins the game.

To start the game, each player is dealt a hand of 13 cards. The remainder of the deck is placed face down in the middle of the players, and the top card is turned over to begin the turn. On a player’s turn, they must take one of the following actions:

– Play a card from their hand onto the table. Cards of the same rank as the card previously played can be played on top of it. For example, if an Ace is played, any other Ace can be played on top of it.
